We are looking for a Supply Chain Specialist in our San Diego office to facilitate sourcing and supplier relationships for our various projects. Position Objective

The Supply Chain Specialist supports internal product management, engineering, and operations teams by maintaining up to date BOM (bill of materials) status and cost for new and existing products. This position works with external manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers to stay ahead of supply needs in a dynamic market. This position is the go-to for sourcing availability of existing components, alternate components, and forward-looking components.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain up to date BOMs for various projects, including pricing and lead times for components

  • Stay in contact and up to date with domestic and global component suppliers and vendors

  • Develop strong relationships with global manufacturers to ensure timely production and ordering, including regular conference calls and daily communication

  • Create reporting and tracking processes to ensure leadership has accurate and useful information

  • Work with internal team of operations, product managers, and executive team to develop accurate materials forecasts and latest sourcing information

  • Update and maintain database of purchases, materials, suppliers, and costs according to project

  • Organize and manage component delivery schedules

  • Identify and track viable alternate components and sourcing channels

  • Analyze and strategize cost down opportunities

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Heavy Excel)

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience

  • 2-3 years of relevant supply chain or inventory management experience

  • Strong skills: analytical thinking, written and verbal communication, organization

  • Demonstrate exceptional organization, communication, and task management skills

  • Must be detail oriented and a problem solver with a passion to contribute to a creative fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects at one time

Travel Requirements

  • May require travel to various domestic and international conferences or client sites, including overnight trips

  • May require up to 15% travel
